On 8 June 2011, Australian websites, organisations and Internet users joined in World IPv6 Day to promote the new Internet Protocol, version 6. Studentnet® helped organise a special event for two school classes, from Wollondilly Anglican College and Waverley College, who were given the challenge to 'break' the IPv6 Internet.
Students were able to access the IPv6 Internet courtesy of Studentnet and IPv6Now, even though their schools' current infrastructure only supports IPv4. Many thanks to Wollondilly and Waverley for their assistance. One student called it "the best school day ever!" Everyone had a lot of fun - and while the IPv6 Internet may have wobbled occasionally, it didn't break ...
